Into The Woods(Chapter 4)

Chapter 4

Warning

This morning, they had set their alarms to 6:00, to make sure yesterday morning didn’t repeat itself. They had a little extra time in the morning, so they walked to the sign that said:

DARK FOREST

DO NOT ENTER

IF YOU ENTER, YOU ARE A  TOTAL GONER

They realized that they should get back home so that they could get to school on time. But Aríana turned around, and quickly wrote and drew something (with black marker) on the sign so it looked like this: 

DARK FOREST

DO NOT ENTER

IF YOU ENTER, YOU ARE A TOTAL GONER

Yeah right, no one would die in there🤣

Luckily, Lía didn’t notice the writing(she would have freaked out if she did), and they headed back home. At home, they grabbed their respective backpacks and raced each other to school. 

Once inside, Mr. Sim told them how glad he was to see them on time this morning. That made them feel a little bit uncomfortable, but they pushed through their embarrassment and agreed with him. Telling him they were glad to be the earliest students again. In the middle of reading class, Aríana started to write something on a piece of paper and pass it to Lía, but Lía gave her sister a look so intense that Aríana gave up, sighing and grumbling to herself.

When they got home, they decided to have a relaxed afternoon. So, they grabbed a box of cookies, and watched some television. They watched their favorite television show about a pair of kids who wanted to learn how to fly. In the show, the kids would concoct potions to fly, each one working better than the last. They were almost done with the second to last season, and the kids had managed to fly ten feet! Ten feet in the air. 

After the television show was over, they went to the park. They saw a group of kids playing no shoes tag. Without hesitating, they threw off their shoes and jumped into the fray. They had so much fun they didn’t notice how late it was getting. They looked at the floating clock and saw it was time to go to bed. 

They ran home after getting their shoes, and they had dinner. They got ready to sleep and hopped into bed. Lía had dreams about the dark forest that night. Her dream went like this: She was walking through the woods with Aríana and they found a pot of gold. They then walked back to the village victorious.
