Tigers News

Did you know there are only about 4,000 tigers left in the wild? I’m writing about tigers because my mom is the year of the tiger. I like tigers and they are beautiful.
Did you know no two tigers have the same markings? This is just one interesting characteristic about tigers. Tigers weigh up to 660 pounds and can grow up to 10 feet long. Tigers are powerful hunters and they also have sharp teeth. They have reddish orange fur with black stripes. All tigers have different patterns and markings.
Tigers live in many different habitats. Tigers live in south and southeast Asia, China and eastern Russia. They live in temperate, tropical or evergreen forests, swamps and grasslands.
Did you know that tigers eat crocodiles? Tigers use their coats as camouflage. They also rely on sight for hunting. Tigers are solitary animals. They are carnivores and eat wild boar, monkeys, buffalo, sloths, bears, leopards and crocodiles. They hunt at night.
Tigers are mammals and have a mammal life cycle. Tigers have live births. They usually have 2-5 babies. They become teenage tigers after 1 year. At 2 years old, they go on their own. They live 13-14 years. I chose tigers because they’re beautiful and important to me. Tigers are powerful hunters with unique markings and cool stripes. Tigers live in many places in Asia and they can survive in different habitats. Tigers eat a lot of animals. I like that tigers use camouflage. They use it for hunting. Tigers are cool, powerful mammals that I love. We want to help tigers thrive because we need them on our planet.

I researched Axolotls because they are cute and smily. Did you know that axolotls can grow back body parts? Did you know that axolotls can hear? Axolotls have a lot of interesting characteristics. Axolotls have smooth skin and they live up to 10 to 15 years in captivity. They have 4 legs, and they have a tail. Axolotl's habitat is in freshwater lakes. They are from Mexico City. They can change color to be camouflage and they can regenerate their limbs.
Do you know what paedomorphism is? This is a life cycle process axolotls go through. Axolotls go through paedomorphism which means they look like the tadpole form of salamander. They keep their gills when they do become adults. They can breed new axolotls once a year between March - June. In the wild they live for 5-6 years and up to 15 years in captivity.
As you have read, Axolotls are very interesting creatures. Axolotls are small animals. Axolotls survive by breathing under water. The axolotls' life cycle is unique. We need to help axolotls thrive.
